"My friend's cat got its head stuck in a vase; freaked out; broke the vase, and was left with this."
His real name is "Jax", but that's largely been forgotten, ever since part of a vase became stuck around his neck, looking like an ancient Egyptian collar.
Suddenly Jax looks like a living, breathing cat goddess.
Once Jax's photo was posted online, looking very "Egyptiany", the internet went crazy. He was immediately hailed "Tutankitten" and "Neferkiti"—but it was "Cleocatra" that stuck.
And then the puns began:
- "That is a look of deNile and regret".
- "I saw that joke coming from a Nile away."
- "Tut, tut, let's not start a pun thread."
Who can resist a good Egypt pun - on "Caturday"?
By the way, the kitty is fine. The person holding Jax in this photo is his vet. He was able to remove the vase from around his neck with a wire saw, and hopefully Jax has learnt his lesson. But if Jax is anything like my cats, probably not.
